Oskar Fashion Awards 2007 given away.

Sofas, chairs and armchairs Longue and Residence Livingroom by Mebelplast were presented during the gala Oskar Fashion Awards 2007 in Hilton Warsaw

Oskar Fashion Awards is a prestigious competition whose purpose is to promote new talented designers. Collections by young Polish designers were presented during the gala by debuting models and the best participants were awarded by the international jury with Oskar Fashion Awards for designers, models and photographers. The presentation of the latest tendencies in the furniture industry was the principal element of the arrangement of the interiors where the gala took place.

It was the first time when the statuettes were also given to the best dressed personalities of the world of movies, media and business.

During the extraordinary night the baroque sofas Lola attracted the attention of the participants as much as the collections by young Polish designers presented on the catwalk, reminding of the synergy between the world of fashion and the furniture industry. Modern furniture designs as well as fashionable colours and materials attracted attention of the biggest ambassadors of the world of fashion.

The tendencies in the furniture industry are changing and they surprise as much as those presented on the catwalks around the world.

The baroque designs which are fashionable nowadays are an answer to the yearning for splendour and opulence of those times. The Lola model is a piece of furniture of a very distinctive character and contrasting colour compositions (black and white), and it combines baroque and industrial elements. This is a pastiche that requires courage, but first of all a sense of style and taste. Its characteristic form encourages to rest.

The counterbalance for the baroque sumptuousness was the simplicity of the sofa called Scala. This is a piece of furniture of a unique shape and strong colours. The sofa is perfectly matched by a round puff, which may be used as a small table or a footrest.

One of the most important elements of furniture design is the proper selection of the fabric. This is a kind of dress for the furniture thanks to which the piece of furniture is given its final form. The wide range of upholstery fabrics matches the range of possibilities that are at disposal of the designers of the collections presented on the fashion shows catwalks.

The most characteristic pattern tendencies nowadays as regards upholstery fabrics are combinations of different textures of fabrics, e.g. delicate chenille with satin and velour. An extraordinary effect may also be obtained by means of combination of a simple and light form of leather furniture with highly decorative backrest cushions in satin and velour fabric. Floral designs dominate, namely large floral patterns and leaves, as well as baroque designs characterised by contrasting combinations of black, white and silver.

The Oskar Fashion Awards gala and the accompanying presentation of the tendencies in the furniture industry emphasized the increasing importance of fashion in every aspect of life. Fashionable interiors are becoming equally important as fashionable clothes.
